Staff Update
As I am sure you are all aware Emily Glover will be leaving us in early March when she starts her maternity leave. I am very pleased to announce that Leigh Booth will be joining the club on the 6th February 2012, to cover Emily's position: Leigh was previously employed at Adams Park in a similar role for a number of years and is looking forward to working with us to continue to develop the commercial side of our business. Adams Park is much stronger on conferencing than we are so this will be an area that Leigh will focus on and develop for us.
I am also pleased to announce that James Malliff will be joining the club as Assistant General Manager on the 8th February, 2012. As I am sure many of you are aware James is a very enthusiastic playing member of the club and will bring with him numerous ideas on how we can continue to improve the service we provide our members and visitors. James will be working with us for approximately 6 months and during this time will focus on developing the golf side of the business and also helping me on new member development. James will also manage and develop our Pro Shop.
Both Leigh and James are looking forward to working with us and I am very confident that they will both make a significant contribution to the on-going development of Hazlemere Golf Club.
Captain & Pro Challenge
Geoff Blofield & John Goulding were the first pair to challenge the Captain, Garry Hartley, and Gavin Cousins to a match on Thursday the 19th January. It was a was a very tight game in really nice conditions and they were lucky with the weather as it brightened up when they reached the 1st green. The donation to the Captain's charities - The Bunker Fund and Stroke Awareness - was much appreciated. Garry and Gavin look forward to the next challenge!

Bar Food Prices
Over the last 12 months we have experienced significant increases in food prices, but as a club we have absorbed these increases and maintained our selling prices. Unfortunately we cannot continue to do this so we will be introducing a new menu on Tuesday 7th February and this will have the new selling prices. We are expanding the menu introducing a number of new items such as an increased selection of Wraps, Club sandwiches, Panini and Pizza Baguettes as well as American Breakfast Pancakes. In arriving at the new selling prices we have looked at ingredient costs and the prices charged for similar items elsewhere, this has resulted in a relatively low increase on some items but higher increases on others.
Competition News
Bunker Fund Mixed Alliance - 15th January, 2012
What a great turnout! - nearly 100 members turned up to play on a dry, frosty but sunny day and although temporary greens were in play this did not bother the players particularly when such awesome scores were returned. A big thank you to all the members who played and raised £315 for the Bunker Fund. The winners were:
