General Manager's Update - Friday 4th November, 2011

New Members

A very warm welcome to the following members who have joined since my last update
  • Arlene Blakeborough who has upgraded her membership from 300 Club to Full Adult membership
  • Adam Peacock, Frank Andrews, Michael Julius and William O'Donnell who have joined as Junior members

Good Luck to Linda & Brian Rodgers

After winning the Southern Regional Final of the Bader Cup against teams from Bucks, Berks, Herts, Middlesex, Northants and Oxfordshire Linda and Brian are off over the weekend to Portimao in Portugal where they will take part in the National Grand Final of the Bader Cup on the Alamos Golf Course.  They are certainly the first members from Hazlemere to reach the Grand Final and we believe they are also the first from Buckinghamshire.  We wish them the very best of luck in the final.
 
The club are very proud of their achievements and we will be thinking of them next week.  For more details, including a photograph, see this week's back page of the Buckinghamshire Advertiser and page 121 of the Bucks Free Press.

A Big Thank You

A very big thank you on behalf of members to:
  • Linda Rodgers and the Ladies for donating a replacement bench on the 15th tee.
  • The Veterans Section for donating a bench in memory of Peter Sluce.  This is currently behind the yellow tees on the 10th Tee; its final location is yet to be agreed.

Hazlemere Golf Club AGM

To all Shareholding Members:  the AGM of the club will be held on Thursday the 24th November.  Would all shareholding members who have not elected to have their information emailed please pick up their envelope from the reception area over the weekend.  Any envelopes remaining on Monday the 7th November will have to be posted, so please help us to keep our costs down by picking yours up .
 

Forthcoming Social Events

Do not forget to book your tickets for our Tribute to ELVIS PRESLEY on Saturday the 16th November, 2011.  Lee Jackson is Elvis, as seen on TV, Lee is considered the UK's best young Elvis.  The event will be a Dinner & Dance at a cost of £30.00 per person.  Our Elton John night was a great success and I am sure that the Elvis night will be at least as good.  The booking sheet is on the Social Events Notice Board.  We already have reservations for five tables and will be advertising externally next week so don't delay in reserving your place/tables.
