General Manager's Update ~ Tuesday 13th March, 2012

 

Emily Glover

I am pleased to announce that Emily gave birth to her second daughter Sophie Rae Glover on the 7th March.  Sophie Rae weighed in at 5lb 12oz and both mother and daughter are doing well.
 

Kitchen Refurbishment

Over the next two weeks we are carrying out some essential refurbishment to our kitchen which will result in all our appliances being disconnected for prolonged periods of time.  The project will increase our flexibility and also include the installation of a new refrigerated preparation and salad counter.
 
Unfortunately this will result in the kitchen being closed which will prevent us from being able to serve our normal menu.  At the moment we believe the impact on members will be as follows:
  • Friday 16th March - no service will be available between 09:00am and 11:00am
  • Tuesday 20th, Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd the kitchen will be closed all day and no hot snacks will be available.  We will set up a snacking area that will enable us to serve cold snacks, sandwiches and wraps etc.
There is a possibility that the project will be completed early Thursday morning in which case we will bring the kitchen back into operation as soon as possible on that day.  We are using a number of outside contractors on the project so please watch the notice board in case there are any changes to this programme fro reasons beyond our control.  I apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause members and their guests.
 

Men's Knockouts

The closing dates for the Men's & Mixed Knockouts has been extended to Sunday the 18th March.  If you have not entered please give serious consideration to taking part in one of the competitions.  The sign-up sheets are in the Pro Shop.
 

St. Patrick's Day

This year St. Patrick's Day falls on Saturday the 17th March and to help members celebrate the day we will be serving a special St. Patrick's Day menu:
  • 3 Beef & Guinness Sausages served on Colcannon Mashed Potato with Irish Brown Onion Gravy ~ £7.95
  • If you order a pint of Guinness at the same time it will only cost you £2.00
