News from Around the Club:
Well done to Emily Marler, our Junior Captain, who has been appointed Bucks Junior Girls Captain for the coming season.  The club is very proud of Emily who has achieved this position as a result of both her playing skills and leadership ability.   I am sure you will all join me wishing Emily the very best for her year of captaincy.

The USL Society held their annual competition on 19th Saturday, there was a good turn out and Lynda Fletcher was the overall winner scoring a very credible 44 points, well done to Lynda.

Dougie Vance, Director of House, has decided to stand down at the AGM this year.  During his period in office Dougie has made a significant contribution to the golf club both in terms of the house area and also as a board member.  If any member would consider standing as a potential Director of House and would like an informal discussion about the position please feel free to contact either Rod Jones, Dougie Vance or myself.

As I am sure you are aware we are beginning to carry out a programme of improvements in the club house, the Luke Donald Suite toilets have now been refurbished and I would like to thank the following members whose involvement have made the project possible: David Talyor, Linda Rodgers, Gilly Stimpson, Dave Bowen and Mike Symons.  I am pleased to announce that we are having new front doors fitted on Wednesday of this week.  The new doors will match the doors recently installed in the players' entrance and improve both security and reduce the loss of heat from the building in the winter.  If you are visiting the club on Wednesday please use the players' entrance whilst the doors are being fitted.

The club has started to take bookings for Christmas Dinners and Lunches; any member interested in making a booking please contact Emily.  Party bookings are looking good, we currently have places on the following dates in December for party nights; Saturday 19th, Thursday 10th and 17th  and Friday 4th.  The menu is displayed on the Special Occasions/Christmas Celebrations page on the web site.

News from around the Course:
A big thank you to Jane Doyle, Xandra Morley and Heather Nickson for their hard work on the heather bed by the second tee.  I am pleased to announce that today, Monday, a new Oak tree has been planted between the 2nd and 4th fairways in the vicinity of the Horse Chestnut that recently died and was removed.

The golf club have entered an agreement with Prestige Golf Signs who will supply the club with a course planner and a tee stand for each hole, the project will be financed by each sign being sponsored which is organised by Prestige Golf Signs.  Please see the notice boards for an example of the signs.  Should any member's company want to sponsor a sign in order to promote their business please contact me for more information.

The following coaching courses are currently available to members: Peak Performance (0 to 10 handicap) is being run by Gavin and Kendal McWade, founder of Instinctive Golf, on Saturday 10th October.  A Short Game Master Class is being run by Christian on Monday 5th October, please see the notice board or the Pro Shop for more details.

Additional reports have been added to the web site.  The Playing Frequency Reports and a list of members eligible to put in Supplementary Scores are now on Members' Area/Handicaps & Report page of the web site.

Don't forget the Wedding Open Days are on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October, again details are displayed around the club and on the Weddings/Wedding Fayre page on the website.
