A warm welcome to Luisa Meftah who has joined the club as a £300 club member and Terence Campbell who has joined as a social member.
 
New Year's Eve Party:  There are still spaces available for our New Year's Eve party, tickets cost £42.50, available from the office, and the menu is on the web site and in the player's corridor. There will be a raffle on the night with the proceeds going to the Captain's Bunker Fund.
 
Gift Vouchers:  Christmas Gift Vouchers for Golf Lessons, Green Fees and Pro Shop Purchases are now available in the Pro Shop.
 
New deals for members: we have introduced the following new deals for members:
  • Member's Winter Special: a member playing with at least 2 guests mid-week can enjoy a bacon bap on arrival, a round of golf and either a breaded chicken and sweet chilli wrap or a roasted ham & mature cheddar cheese bap all for £15 per guest, the member pays nothing.
  • Member's Guest Twilight Golf: £12 a round after 12.00.
 
News from around the course: the new Tee Signs are now in place and I'm sure you will agree with me they certainly make the course look a lot smarter.  Russell and his team will be installing the new winter mats on the 10th, 15th, 16th and 18th holes over the next two weeks.
 
Bunker Upgrade Project:  In the New Year the Green's Committee will arrange a number of Open Sessions to allow members to ask questions and give their views.  The Consultation document on display in the Club House is also on the website www.hazlemeregolfclub.co.uk/members/about.asp?id=47.   Your feedback and input is needed.
 
2010 Diary:  The 2010 Diary is now on sale in the Bar.  The cost will be £2.00 and all proceeds go to the Special Projects Bunker Fund.  Many thanks to Peter Sluce for producing the diary again this year.
 
Special Projects Bunker Fund:  The Special Projects Group has created a calendar of events and activities to raise money for the Bunker Upgrade Programme.  The current list of events and activities are displayed on the notice board in the Player's Corridor so have a look and put these events in your diary.  Your support is needed.  Additional members for the weekly Lotto would also increase the fund so if you are not a member already why not pick up an application form and send it to Toni Bourne c/o The Office.  Can all existing Lotto Members please re-new their Lotto subscription by the end of the month.  Please send your cheque for £52.00 made payable to Hazlemere Golf Club Ltd., and send it to Toni Bourne c/o The Office.
 
Christmas Card Notice Board:  Instead of sending Christmas Cards to other members why not do one Christmas Card for all members and pin it to the Christmas Card Board in the foyer.  Then donate the money you save (or some of it) to the Special Projects Bunker Fund.
 
Hole In One: The board have agreed that from the 1st January 2010 any member who has a Hole in One while competing in a Club Board, Trophy or Medal competition would receive £75 on his Club Card.
 
New in the bar. For a limited time the following guest drinks are available in the bars:
  • Guest white wine:  We now have an excellent Sauvignon Blanc House Wine available either by the bottle or by the glass.
  • Guest red wines: We have the following guest red wines: Longman Shiraz a rich, fruity Australian Shiraz full plum and Red berry flavours; Furious Boar a furiously robust wine from California with ripe berry flavours and exotic spices. Both available by the bottle and glass.
  • Guest beer: for a very limited period we will have IPA from the Rebellion  Brewing Company based in Marlow available in the downstairs bar. Thank you to Terry Coulson our Club Captain, and John Morley for arranging this for us.  If this is popular with the members we will look to including it in our offering.
Looking for that extra treat at Christmas? You can now order a White Chocolate & Baileys 16 portion Cheesecake for £22, please order via the office or at the bar.
 
Website:  Details of Tee Reservations for the next six months and Weather information have now been added to the top of the Members' Area Homepage.
 
Fire Evacuation Procedure:  I would like to remind all members and guests to the club that when the Fire Alarm sounds all members and guests MUST leave the building by the nearest safe exit and congregate at the Fire Assembly point which is in the middle of the Car Park. 
 
General Meeting:  Just a reminder to all shareholders that there is a General Meeting, 7:00 pm for 7:30 pm, on Tuesday the 15th December, 2009 to vote on last year's accounts and the appointment of Directors and Committee Members.  The Chairman will buy the first drink for those attending.  Could I also remind all shareholders to complete, sign and send us the mandate allowing us to send you, via email, future notices of General Meetings and company information.  This would save the club postage and stationery costs.
