General Manager's Update - Thursday 21st January, 2010

NEW MEMBER
A warm welcome to Mr. Adrian Black who has joined the club as a 7 day member since my last update.

At long last the weather is showing signs of turning and hopefully it will not be to long before the course will be open again.  Throughout the bad weather we have been able to open the club house each day, a big thank you to all those who have come in for refreshments over this period particularly to all the members who joined us last Friday evening.  Also, a big thank you to the ladies who have been in working on cleaning a number of our conferencing chairs and making new chair covers.

This Friday night's Snack Bar Specials menu is as follows:
  • Spaghetti Bolognese with Fresh Egg Pasta, Parmesan and Basil Oil
  • Homemade Thai Burger Topped with Melted Brie Chips and Side Salad
  • Chicken Fajitas with Salsa, Cheese and a Selection of Wraps
All of the above are priced at £7.95, plus there is a dessert and cheese & biscuits.  If you don't see anything you fancy remember you can also order from the snack menu.  We look forward to see as many of you possible dinning with us on Friday.

Thursday Lunchtime - Winter Warmer Set Menu  We are pleased to announce that we are introducing a regular Thursday Set Menu that will be priced at a very reasonable £8 for 2 courses or £10 for 3 course.  This will be available from Thursday 21st January when the main course will be Beef Casserole and Herbed Dumplings, there will also be a soup and the dessert is Apple and Rhubarb Crumble and Custard.  This will certainly help you keep out the cold.  Again we look forward to as many members as possible joining us on Thursday.  Future selections will include:
  • Sheppard's Pie with as selection of vegetables
  • Braised Steak with roast potatoes and vegetables
  • Chicken and Vegetable Stew
  • Beef and Ale pie with roast potatoes and vegetables
  • Bread and Butter pudding with custard
  • English Trifle
Quiz Night with a Fish & Chips Supper - Friday 29th January.  The Booking Sheet is on the Social Notice Board in the Players' Corridor so make sure you book your table (tables of 8) for this ever popular evening.  If you can't get up to the club because of the weather, then ring the office and we will book your table.

Bunker Alliance Mixed Competition - Sunday 7th February.  The booking sheets are up in the Players' Corridor so put your name or team (1 lady and 3 gentlemen) down for this fun mixed event.  Coffee and Bacon Baps will be served at the Halfway House and all proceeds go to the Special Projects Bunker Fund.  If you have never played in these Sunday mixed competitions before why not give it a try, put your name down and meet fellow members in a relaxed fun event.

Casino Royale & Roulette Evening - Saturday 13th February.  The booking sheet for this event is now on the Social Notice Board.   Guests are welcome and you can book a whole table or put your names down on a 'Joiner Table'.  Further information and the Dinner Menu is on the Social Notice Board as well as on our website's Social Events Page.

YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU
As you will have seen from my previous updates, and also around the club over the last 6 months, we have been working hard to increase the amount of revenue coming into the club.  We are currently putting together our marketing plan for this calendar year and one objective is to increase our marketing data bases so we have a wider audience to market our services too.  This is where we need your help.  We particularly want contact details of companies or individuals that could use the following services:
  • Conferencing and Banqueting
  • Company Golf days
  • Golf Societies
Click here for the form for you to fill in with as many contacts as you have through either your work or social networks.  There will be a prize draw for free Friday night dinning so remember to put your name on the form before you send it back to the office.  In April of this year we plan to hold the Hazlemere Golf Club "Pub Challenge Golf Day" which is designed for local pub teams to compete in, if you know of any local pub that would be interested in this please enter details on the form.

Due to the current weather conditions the Conferencing and Banqueting Showcase that was due to take place on Tuesday 26th January between 12 noon and 2.30pm has had to be rearranged.  We will set a new date once the weather has improved.

Regards,
