General Manager's Update - Tuesday 23rd March, 2010

Steve Hunt resigns as Director of Greens:  It is with great regret that I have to inform you that Steve Hunt has resigned as Director of Greens.  On behalf of the board, management and members of the club I would like to thank Steve for his considerable contribution as Director of Greens.  For the full announcement click here.
 
Friday Night Steak Night ~ 26th March:  This Friday Brendan will cut and cook you a steak just the way you like it so why not book a table on the booking sheet in the foyer or phone the office to book a table.  For the full Steak Night Menu click here.
 
Lotto Winner - Game 22:  After 5 weeks Barbara Prole is the winner of the 22nd Lotto game and wins £227.50.
If you are a not already a Lotto Member why not join the Lotto Club.  It only costs a £1.00 per week with 50% of the subscription going to the Bunker Fund and 50% for Prize Money.  To join the Lotto when the next game starts on Saturday the 27th March, please fill in an application form and leave it with your cheque for £52.00 (a year's subscription) in the office by Friday the 26th March.  Please make your cheque payable to Hazlemere Golf Club Ltd.  If you want to pay by quarterly standing order then please let Toni Bourne know and she will send you the Bank Details for you to make the necessary arrangements.  Click here for an application form.  If you are an existing Lotto member and want to change any of your six numbers then please email your changes to Toni Bourne at tonibourne@btopenworld.com by Friday the 26th March.
 
A great week for Hazlemere Ladies:  Well done to Val Hughesdon and Barbara Prole who won the Buckinghamshire Lady Captain's Golfing Society's Spring Meeting at the Buckinghamshire Golf Club last Monday.  Val and Barbara won with 42 stableford points and Carol Line with Chris Bodey narrowly missed 2nd place on countback with 38 points.  Congratulations also go to Linda Rodgers and Chris Bodey who played in the final of the Buckinghamshire County Winter Foursomes at Lambourne Golf Club last Friday.  Linda and Chris narrowly lost to Ellesborough.  The full report and photos can be seen on the Hazlemere News webpage
 
Members' Week ~ Tuesday the 23rd March to Monday the 29th March:  To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Members' purchase of the Golf Club and to thank members for their continued support the staff will be organising the following events.
  • Tuesday 23rd March: Ken's Crew 10th Anniversary stableford competition, tee off from 9.30 till 11.00, this will be followed by prize giving and refreshments at around 2 pm.  This is open to all members who normally play on a Tuesday.
  • Wednesday 24th March: Lovely Ladies 10th Anniversary stableford competition, tee off from 9.00 am, with complementary snack lunch.  This will be followed by prize giving when the last person completes her round.  This is open to all lady members who normally play on a Wednesday.
  • Thursday 24th March: Wally's Wonders 10th Anniversary stableford competition, tee off from 11.30 till 13.00, this will be followed by prize giving and refreshments, time to be confirmed.  This is open to all members who normally play on a Thursday.
  • Saturday 27th March: Captain and Ladies' Captain's weekend Players 10th Anniversary stableford competition, tee times from 7.30 am onwards.  There will be a separate competition for ladies and gentlemen and refreshments will be available during the day.  Prize giving will be around 6:30 pm.  This is open to all members who play at the weekend.
  • Monday 29th March: Sue and Ian's Mixed Vets 10th Anniversary Harare competition, tee off times from 8 am, refreshments from 12 noon and prize giving at around 1.30 pm.  This is open to everyone who plays in the mixed vets competitions through out the year.

Members' Update and Pub Night ~ Thursday the 25th March at 7:30 pm:  Come and hear the latest update on the Bunker Project, the other projects the Board is pursuing on your behalf and the latest view on the club's progress this year.  After the Members' Update why not try your hand at the Pub Games which will be set out in the Trophy Room.  How good are you at Darts, Shove Ha'penny and the like?  See if you can be the champion at one of these games.  For more information on the Pub Games click here.  Pub Food will also be available during the evening and Brendan has created a Special Pub Night Menu.   Click here for the Pub Night Games Menu.  
 
Golf Mark reassessment: On Monday of this week the club underwent its three year assessment under the Golf Mark accreditation scheme. The assessment was carried out by Justine Lawrence, BBO County Development Officer and I am pleased to be able to report that we passed the assessment and can continue to promote our selves as a golf mark accredited club.
